Note: Four members of SSDP NZ (Sam Lasham, Brin Ryder, Jai Whelan, Tiffany Brown) attended a hybrid training with the University of Otago's Te Whare Tāwharau - Sexual Violence Support and Prevention Centre. The hybrid training was a combination training workshop that discussed ways in which persons can be more supportive of those in need of help from sexual violence, help to reduce stigma, become aware of the various professional bodies that can help individuals and how to refer people to these professionals appropriately. The training also outlined specific issues that could arise in "club" situations (i.e. within the chapter) and how to deal with these adequately, as well as providing and maintaining that the chapter and events held by the chapter are a safe space for all.
